JOB DESCRIPTION AND QUALIFICATIONS – U.S. GAAP Technical Accounting Editor\Author

Overview

The U.S. GAAP Technical Accounting Editor\Author will provide the professional insight and expertise necessary to design a cutting-edge customer-oriented product, author market-leading analysis and guidance, and provide expert, rapid response to significant developments in accounting standard-setting.

Responsibilities

1. Author concise, comprehensive plain language restatements and explanations of the Codification comprising generally accepted accounting principles as the basis of Reporter service, including the pronouncements of FASB, AICPA, SEC, and IASB.

2. Create and integrate special elements including Viewpoints, Cautions, Examples and Illustrations that provide actionable expert insight and opinion for sophisticated users within explanatory material

3. Research, identify, and integrate select content from the range of U.S. GAAP and IFRS compliance content.

4. Write concise analysis of emerging developments in GAAP standard-setting.

5. Assist in the development of the online version of the product.

Quality Assurance Engineer- Junior

Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate for this position has experience in quality assurance, financial markets, and a strong technical background. The candidate should be able to apply their experience (both financial and technical) to improve our testing practices. Experience in software testing especially in the financial market industry and the ability to understand and anticipate the needs of our customers is essential.

Mandatory Qualities:

1-3 years experience in Quality Assurance (including designing and writing test plans, executing tests, reporting on defects, reporting test results) is required.

Familiarity with databases particularly Sybase. Ability to understand schemas and write basic queries using SQL.

Advanced user of MS Office tools including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint isBS/BA or equivalent work experience.

Good written & communication skills are mandatory. CANDIDATES SHOULD BE AT LEAST A 9 out of 10!

Experience working in a team environment.

Honest, open, passionate, positive “can-do" attitude, self-sufficient, organized.

Ability to rapidly absorb new concepts – either technological, or industry related.

Ability to establish external/internal resources to aid the team in reaching its goals.

Desired Qualities:

Experience working with financial markets or with financial market data. HIGHLY PREFERRED (i.e. knowledge of stocks, bonds, etc)

Experience working in the financial information industry, in particular conducting QA testing on financial information industry software is a plus.

Familiarity with financial information industry software.

Advanced user of Automated Testing Tools (e.g. QTP, SilkPerformer, SilkTest) and or Formal training in an automated testing tool is a plus.
